Again, I'm responding to the "You might be a military brat if..." I think one of the best things about being a military brat is being part of a larger world community made up of people from many different backgrounds. I see myself as a "multicultural" person and I love that.
The other day I was trying to figure out which place to list as my "hometown". I finally picked the place I am currently living. "Hometown" is not a military brat concept.
When I logged in as usual I read the part about "You might be a military brat if you..." There was one about imitating speech patterns easily. I don't know if I can do that, but I do know people can never figure out where I'm from when they listen to me. People guess many different places. I guess I have that eclectic speech pattern. It's fun confusing people! What about you all?
Did any of you live in Hawaii in the early 80's? Those are some very fond memories for me, living on the Peninsula, hanging out with friends. I lived in Pearl City from age 11-14. I haven't been back to Hawaii since then, but hope to go back one day to visit.
I still feel the need to move every few years. I've been in the same place for five years, a record for me, and have been feeling fidgety...
