PLEASE HELP A FELLOW BRAT  PRAY AND HELP TODAY!

I just talked with Keith (Debbie's husband) who gave me permission to give our their email address and home address so that she can recieve well-wishes and any kind of donations.  As Lisa and I discussed last night, gas cards would be helpful since they do not have a fuel efficient vehicle and will need to commute to chemotherapy for at least 6 weeks.  I've identified some of the types of gas stations where she lives which are Texaco, Citgo, Exxon, Chevron.  As Lisa mentioned, other types of donation would be helpful with respect to whatever perscriptions are needed, help with keeping her house and thus environment clean, food, etc.  Below is her contact information:

Debbie Howard Daughtry
104 Terrapin Road
#937
Harpers Ferry, WV 25425

She has been checking her email daily.  Debbie is fairly new to the worldwide web so be patient with her responding.

Debbie's surgey is on July 18, 2008 where she will undergo a mastectomy of the left breast and at that time they will take a sampling of the lymph nodes.  We pray that they will find that the cancer has only been isolated to that left breast and has not spread any further.  A recent mammogram shows that the right breast is normal.  She has agreed to have her personal situation posted because in her words, "I can use all the prayers I can get".  Debbie is the most upbeat and positive person I have ever met regardless of whatever situation she has ever faced.  She was that way when we all knew her in high school and she is still the same.  This is half the battle of beating cancer so it is within her own will to take a positive step forward.  As you all very well know, Debbie very much values her old friends and loves hearing from them even if she hasn't been the great communicator over the years.  Amazing how many years pass while we are all living our lives.  Anyone who wants to send well wishes by email or mail would be greatly welcomed.  Debbie's husband Keith says she does like to recieve cards and well wishes mostly by mail.  Again, Debbie is fairly new to corresponding by email and very much likes recieving something she can open and set on the mantle as a reminder at home.   Again, Debbie's husband's name is Keith Daughtry.  They have a son named Stephen (age 12 in August) and a daughter named Jessica (age 9).

Mr. Berwyn:

I am a Doctoral Candidate at the University of North Texas, and am conducting a study on adult military children and the impact of their overseas experience on later development.  Is there a way that you could post the information below to alumni of your school?  I am also attaching it as a Word document if that might work better.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Wilson

The purpose of this study is to examine family influence and identity development in adult military children who spent a significant amount of time overseas during their childhood and/or adolescence.  I need individuals who are willing to spend approximately one hour of their time to answer some questions in an online web-survey about their life before the age of 18.  If you would consider passing this post along to other venues where adult military children might be located, it would be greatly appreciated!
****************************
Did either of your parents serve in a branch of the Armed Forces? Have you lived part of your childhood or adolescence in a foreign country?
If you lived 2 years outside the home culture of your parents before reaching the age of 18, please consider participating in a study addressing the complexities of being raised cross-culturally. You will have the opportunity to win one of eight $50 dollar gift certificates from Amazon.com.
To complete the online survey, please go to

Happy Happy May!

Greetings Fellow Frankfurters! We at FAHS.org wish you and yours the very best.

Below is the link to this month's Eagles Crier, (which you can always find for free online at www.fahs.org)

Ok, I am proud to announce the FAHSPA 12th Annual All-Class All-Year Get Together on the sunny shores of Lake Hartwell, SC.
Yes, this is a US Army Corps of Engineers lake which creates the border between South Carolina and Georgia. Only 90 miles from Atlanta, and a mere 10 miles off Interstate 85, the Hartwellians will be gathering for fun in the sun starting on May 19 and partying on through May 26. There are lots of info details on the Main Guestbook under Get Togethers and Reunions. The Lake Hartwell gathering of Eagles holds a special and dear place in my heart. It was here that the idea of creating www.fahs.org was conceived.
You are welcome and we would LOVE it if we were surprised, (as we have been many times) by your unannounced visit to the lake. There will be Frankfurters there from classes as long ago as the early 70's all the way through to the early 90's. We would love to expand that circle. We've had visits from the class of 50's, 60's, and 90's in the past. Get together with 30 or more of your next newest best friends.  So grab your gear and get to the Lake! I'll see you there. PS No name tags! :-)

There's a new website I'd like to bring to your attention: http://militarybrats.net/home.php Check it out, and get signed on today. Tell em the Prez sent you.

Class of 63-66, 79, 82 and 83 are planning Reunions, so check out the Guestbook today and check in with your class. You can skip 3rd period to do so.

Thanks for the donations that were made in April. Please consider giving generously to www.fahs.org. We need your help. How about a cool shot glass? They are in and they look and work great! ;-) Any amount is graciously accepted and appreciated. We spend at least 30 hours of volunteer time a month keeping your site up to date and current. We want your contributions. We also want your photos, from then, and now. So please visit the website, and make a donation today. Thanks!
