About Military Brats Online
Welcome to Military Brats Online. My name is Vann Baker . . . I created Military Brats Online in the fall of 1995 and launched the website in December of 1995. Military Brats Online was the first website entirely devoted to preserving Military Brats culture and helping Military Brats to re-connect with each other.
While there were few websites available in 1995, I realized there was a need for website where Military Brats could easily find out more about their Military Brats heritage and re-connect with friends. I had no idea in 1995 that the Internet would grow to become what it is today.
Over the years Military Brats Online has grown from just offering links to Military Brats alummi groups and other resources. I added articles from readers and myself, and a few years later discussion groups were added. With Military Brats Online focusing strictly on Military Brat life, the website became the "go to" site for links to anything and everything related to Military Brats.
Why a Social Network website format?
It has always been my goal to create a robust online community for Military Brats where we can all share our experiences and have a dialogue.
In 2008, Military Brats Online was redesigned from the ground up, and re-launched, giving Military Brats many interactive features such as personal blogs, discussion groups, chat, polls, event calendar and a searchable database.
What follows are some commonly asked questions about Military Brats Online.
What does it cost to be a member of Military Brats Online?
Military Brats only is absolutely FREE. This website has always been free and will remain so for the forseeable future.
Military Brats Online does require that you join the website and complete a member profile in order to have full access to all the website features. Just use our Signup Form. It only takes a couple of minutes.
Is there an "Upgrade Fee" in order to contact Military Brats?
Absolutely not. Unlike Classmates and other websites which let you join for free then charge you to actually communicate with other Military Brats, Military Brats Online lets you connect with friends immediately.
Isn't Miltary Brats Online and the Military-Brats Registry the same website?
The Military-Brats Registry is a completely different website that is owned and operated by Marc Curtis.
Some visitors to Military Brats Online have tried to use their Military-Brats Registry login and password to try and gain access to the Military Brats Online website, without success, thinking that the two websites were the same.
A number of years ago Marc Curtis and I published a newsletter called "On the Move" and our two websites were linked together so we could refer Military Brats from one website to the other, however, we are not collaborating in any way at this time.
Is Military Brats Online a Non-Profit Organization?
Military Brats Online is not a non-profit organization, and the website is owned and operated by Vann Baker.
Can I try out the website before joining?
In order to prevent just anyone from making comments and publishing information that would not be relevant or of value to Military Brats, a formal signup proccess is required. It just takes a few minutes to sign up and ensures we only have Military Brats using the website.
After you sign up, if you do not wish to be a member, you can terminate your account.
Can I recommend Military Brats Online to my friends?
Absolutely. Military Brats Online has a simple "Invite" form, where you can invite several friends at time to go to the website.
